Migrating Your Groupwise email to myLaurier Webmail

Migrating your email from your Novell Groupwise account to your myLaurier Webmail account is a relatively quick and easy process. 

Remember to prepare your Novell account for the migration process before you begin. Information on how to prepare your Novell account can be found here.


Migration Process




Step 2

If you have already set-up your myLaurier account, enter your username and password into the appropriate fields and select Migrate My Groupwise. Once you click Login, you’ll be taken to the email migration set-up page. 

If you have not already set-up you myLaurier account, enter the username and password you used for your Novell Groupwise account into the appropriate fields and select Migrate My Groupwise. Once you click Login, you’ll be taken to the email migration set-up page. 




Step 3

After clicking Login, you’ll be given a message asking you if you’d like to migrate your email to Google Apps. Select Yes, Migrate My Email and click Submit.




Step 4

After clicking Submit, you will be taken to the Disclaimer page. The Disclaimer outlines your Terms of Use. Select Accept Terms Of Use.

 


Step 5

After you have accepted the Terms Of Use, one of two things will happen: 

1) If you have previously logged-in to your myLaurier Webmail account, you will be taken to your Inbox.

2) If this is your first time logging-in to your myLaurier Webmail account, you will be taken to the myLaurier Webmail set-up page. Information on activating your account can be found here. After completing the set-up, you will be taken to your Inbox.

It is highly unlikely that when first taken to your Inbox, your GroupWise messages will already be migrated. Remember that it can take up to a week for your GroupWise mail to migrate to your myLaurier Webmail account.


After Migration

Logging-in

Remember that you cannot choose to migrate your GroupWise messages a second time. If you attempt to migrate your email after a previous migration has already occurred, you will be given the following message and forced to Login again:




Inbox

Once your mail has finished migrating, each message will appear in your Inbox with a green Migrated Label next to it. You will also notice that a Migrated Tab will appear in the left side of the screen.
